The Law Office of Jillisa L. O’Brien, P.C. is always on the lookout for the next generation of outstanding trial lawyers, associates, and staff. We are committed to providing a professional and supportive work environment, expecting the highest ethical standards and commitment to personal integrity from our entire team. We value diversity, dedication to our clients, and a strong work ethic.

LOJO is committed to attracting, onboarding, and developing a strong workforce of professionals. We recognize that a team of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences produces the greatest ideas and innovations, making us stronger when we represent our clients. We provide equal opportunities to all employees and candidates for employment.

Joining the team

We hold all new associates to the same high standards. This is both a LOJO hallmark of practice and because each associate at LOJO ultimately has the opportunity to become a partner.

Ideal candidates will be responsible, hard-working, and detail-oriented; and have a passion for litigation. Applicants with prior litigation experience are preferred.

Professional Development & Expectations

We encourage the professional development and continuing education of our staff at all levels, as well as furthering opportunities for sharing their knowledge within local legal communities and associations.

  • We expect new associates to take advantage of the many opportunities available to develop their legal skills and their legal practice.
  • LOJO maintains a high volume of work.
  • An associate may be elected to partner if they exhibit a strong commitment to representing the firm’s clients, pursue excellence in their own practice, strengthen and build the firm, enhance the practices of their colleagues, and improve the firm as an organization.

Compensation

Associates’ salaries are set commensurate with experience and are competitive with the market. Every associate is eligible for a salary increase each year.

Benefits include:

  • LOJO’s Safe Harbor plan will deposit to the employee’s 401(k) account in an amount matching 3% of the employee’s annual compensation for every employee that remains employed by the firm as of December 31st each calendar year.
  • Health insurance coverage through Anthem Blue Cross HMO, plus dental and vision insurance, which is available on the first full month after an employee’s 60th day of employment.
  • LOJO pays attorneys’ dues for the State Bar, membership in the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) and any Continuing Legal Education courses relevant to the firm’s legal work.
